ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT Last updated: 2 November 2026 Going Out Out wants as many people as possible to find events and venues, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom, or voice control. This statement is voluntary. Going Out Out is not a public sector website, so the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to it. We still take accessibility seriously, and the Equality Act 2010 applies to the way we provide the service. 1. WHAT WE ARE AIMING FOR We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That is a widely used standard. It is a target, not a certificate. We have not yet commissioned a formal independent audit against WCAG 2.2. This statement is based on the way the site is built and on issues we already know about. We would rather say that plainly than claim a level of conformance we have not tested. 2. HOW THE SITE IS BUILT - Pages use written headings, labels on form fields, and a skip link to the main content. - The main actions, including search, sign-in and listing an event, can be used with a keyboard. - Text can be resized with the browser. Layout is built to reflow on a phone. - Colour is not the only way we show a state. Buttons and links also have text. - Event and pub information is available as text, not only as a picture. - The number of people who have marked going is text. Names are not shown. - Maps have a text alternative in the form of the event and pub lists. Distance is described in words as a straight line, not a road route. 3. KNOWN LIMITS - Maps are visual. A map tile is an image from OpenStreetMap. If a map is hard to use, use the list on the same page, or email us and we will read the relevant details back to you. - Some brand colours are strong. If a particular combination is hard to read, tell us which page and we will look at it. - A venue uploads its own photos and writes its own descriptions. We cannot guarantee that a venue has described an image, or that a venue's wording is clear. If a listing blocks you, report it or contact us. - Booking links, share links, and map tiles are other organisations' services. We do not control their accessibility. - A font file may be loaded from a third party so the wordmark can display. If that file fails, the text remains available in the browser's own typeface. - We have not completed a full test with every assistive technology. 4. WHAT TO DO IF SOMETHING BLOCKS YOU Email [contact@goingoutout.co.uk]. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or browser if you know it. We will reply within one month. Where it is reasonable, we will fix the page or give you the information another way, for example by email. You can also ask for your own information, such as a copy of your account data, in the ways described in the privacy notice. The account download is a JSON text file. 5. ENFORCEMENT If you are not happy with how we respond, and you believe we have failed to make a reasonable adjustment, you can seek advice from the Equality Advisory and Support Service. equalityadvisoryservice.com That service is independent of us. 6. PREPARATION This statement was prepared on 2 November 2026. It was written from the current site, not from a formal WCAG audit. We will update it when we make a material change to the site, or at least once a year.
